I came here to be on my own
This part of the journey I go alone
It’s nothing to do with you
Just something I needed to do
Been raining all day, but I smile
I breathe in the air and look at the sky
The light is so different here
Thundering waves that break on the pier
And the boat has turned around
It’s time for me to break new ground
Follow the river upstream
To the top of the hill, where no one can see me
And sing as loud as I can
Feel the grass under my hands
Tierra del Fuego trees withstanding
The ocean salt in the air
Far away running a mountain hare
So what did I come here to find ?
Birds on an island, or some peace of mind ?
To open my eyes and just see
Silence the voices inside of me
The distant lights of the town
It’s time for me to break new ground
Follow the river downstream
To the people in bars, the music that’s steamy
And dance for as long as I can
